ABOUT LUCY
Lucy Mauro DiGrazia has been playing clarinet professionally for more
than twenty years. Her formative years were spent in the Philadelphia area where she
studied under renowned clarinetists Ronald Reuben and Benjamin Christy.
She holds a bachelor of music in clarinet from Glassboro State College and a Master of
Science in music from the University of Bridgeport.
Mrs. DiGrazia has performed full solo recitals and has knowledge of an extensive
repertoire. In addition to her solo work, she has experience with several symphonies and
chamber groups including the Bridgeton Symphony in New Jersey, The Glassboro Community
Orchestra, the Camden County Pops Orchestra and the Norwalk Symphony in Connecticut.
Another area Lucy is quite familiar with is the musical theater world where she has
been part of several pit orchestras. She has participated in productions of
"Annie", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Lil' Abner", "Anything
Goes", "Once Upon a Mattress" and "The Sound of Music".
Lucy also performs as a guest in recitals. She has played for Peter Schickelee (P.D.Q.
Bach), Delores Ferraro, Anna Maria Alberghetti and has performed original works by
Philadelphia composer Sung J. Ha. She is also a guest clarinetist at the Silvermine School
of Music in Norwalk, Connecticut.
When Lucy is not performing she teaches private clarinet lessons in her home studio.
